Tom Avery (they/them) is an actor/singer based in LA, with a passion for uncovering uncomfortable truths of being alive. Musically, I am Inspired by great songwriters like Carole King, Sam Smith and contemporary artists like The 1975, Lola Young, and Ryn Weaver. As an actor, I am fascinated by limited series drams (The Queens Gambit, Ozark, and Beef are some of my all time favorites) and the imaginative world building of cinema.

Born and raised outside of Seattle, WA, I’ve been singing since I could walk and started performing in Musical Theatre around 8 years old. I trained in vocal jazz in high school and began dancing around the same time, all the while scribbling songs into the corners of my journal.

After moving to LA in 2023, Tom played Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch at The Chance Theatre and received the 2024 Scenies Awards for Best Performance in a Musical and Breakout Performance of the Year. More recently, Tom played Crutchie in Musical Theatre West’s production of Newsies.
